This agricultural company is located in the Italian region, Emilia-Romagna.
The company produces vegetables on an area of about 700 hectares in the region.
50 hectares of land are owned by the company, while the rest of the land is rented by the company with the so-called "contratti di compartecipazione", a sharecropping system.
The supply of vegetables is guaranteed for 12 months a year: from June to October the production is local, in the rest of the year the vegetables are imported from foreign companies with guaranteed certificates of traceability.
Almost 60% of the products sold are produced by the company.
Part of the vegetables are grilled or steamed or made into puree in another factory which is BRS and IFS certified and it is then sold to the main retail companies as well as to food industries.
The company with a certified EUREPGAP, makes and packages the vegetables partly in the main plant (5000 square meters, owned by the property), partly in another facility (10 km away from the main plant).
The company also has a business unit specialized in the production, processing, marketing and distribution of fourth and fifth range vegetable products.
The fourth and fifth range of products are divided into three families:
Grilled vegetables (peppers, eggplants, zucchini, spring onions, courgettes, carrots);
Steamed vegetables (broccoli, carrots, cauliflowers, string beans, fennels);
Sauces (asparagus, artichoke, potato, pepper, pumpkin).
The turnover for 2013 was about 17 million; for 2014 the estimated increase of the turnover is 20%.
Currently the company sells 85% of the products to the main retail companies such as Coop, Esselunga, Conad, Sidis, Carrefour, Spar in Austria, as well as in France and the UK), while 15% of the products are sold to food industries such as Barilla, AIA, and Rana.
The 80% of the products are sold in the Italian market, the rest in Austria, France and UK.
Presently the company has 60 employees, 30 permanent employees and 30 seasonable employees).
The cap rate expected for this company is 8%.
